I started on the quest for my roots because I knew only my parents and Daddy's brothers , sisters and mother.
It
has led me to a huge extended family and very dear friends
and
to a greater understanding of who I am, and of the fascinating history
of New York State in which my forbears played such a part.
There are many blanks in the trees on this site and I hope all of you who find them will help us fill in the blanks, make corrections and verify the information.

Now you have your family tree compiled and want to share it with others and preserve it for future generations. Roxio is the most user friendly CD/DVD burning program I have found. A bit pricey, but well worth the investment. It sure beats the XP version over which you have almost no control. | |
Welcome to the world of computer ownership. Your computer has slowed to a crawl, pop ups all over the place, it only boots after 3 or 4 tries. You can not get in to your files. You call technical assistance and then have a major stress attack; mail the computer to their service center and a few weeks and lots of dollars spent on phone calls and shipping later, the problems are back! "You call Skunk-A-Rific. You ask where in the hell they got that name, and you find out the company was named after a baby skunk they rescued....awwwww. Then you tell them your tale of horror, and they tell you that fixing this is what they do (They also manufacture computers that don't have these problems!). They ask you in-depth questions about what they can and can't do to fix your computer, are able to back up your data, and finally, present you with a computer pretty much immune to all the B.S.! They give you a class on how to keep all that crap off the system, give you the software you need to keep it safe, and show you how to use it. And just to prove how serious they are, if it DOES happen again (even if you deliberately mess it up) they will fix it free. Right away." Need a new computer , other parts or repairs? These people are the best I have ever dealt with! My desk top is named Skunky in their honor. Quality, integrity and customer satisfaction are their goals. They meet those goals, stand behind what they sell and the service is quick and this are done right the first time! If you do have a problem, call and they WILL LISTEN TO YOU, not just read from a script! They will ask questions in words that you can understand! And --------- if worse comes to worse, you have to send your computer to them for repair, it will come back quickly and really fixed. Yes, you could buy a new one off the shelf for a lot more money.Then Great Grand Aunt Josie passes on and you find a trunk of family documents and photos in her attic. You want to share them with the rest of the family, so you scan and try to get them on line or on CDS. After a few hundred computer lock ups you start shopping for a new computer with more bells an whistles. What you really need is more memory and a better graphics card. The folks at Skunk-A-Riffic would tell you that up front, do it at a reasonable price, or perhaps have a re-built unit that would cost you even less. No standing around waiting for a salesperson who speaks tech talk and sells you the most expensive unit on the shelf when you do not need that huge hard drive, the super sound board, a brand new DVD burner etc:. Skunk-A-Riffic makes it easy and is always there for you. Then think of all the baby skunks they can continue to rescue because you spent some money to upgrade your computer! |
